Why is it worth buying the Shotoh Miyabi 5000MCD knife?

SHOTOH knife from the MIYABI 5000MCD series is a feast for the eyes of all fans of Japanese craftsmanship. It is perfectly suited for slicing, cleaning, and peeling vegetables and fruits.

The blade of this knife features not only a beautiful, unique layered pattern but also the steel from which its core is made – incredibly hard MicroCarbide MC63 steel. This core is embedded in as many as 100 layers of two types of steel with varying hardness. Additionally, the CRYODUR blade has been hardened through freezing at a temperature of -196°C. This process achieves exceptional hardness around 63 on the Rockwell scale, providing the best cutting properties and unmatched flexibility. It is also worth adding that the SHOTOH knife's blade has been hand-sharpened using the Honbazuke method – the best natural sharpening stones were used, followed by polishing on leather straps.

The handle of this excellent knife is made of Masur birch wood, whose texture ensures that each representative of the series fits securely in the hand and is unique. The noble appearance is complemented by a pommel at the end with the logo, layered with red fiber, and filigree, mosaic pins. Furthermore, the handle is shaped like a D, ensuring perfect balance and allowing for ideal control during use. This makes even the most time-consuming dishes prepared effortlessly.

With SHOTOH knives, you will combine an incredibly pleasing aesthetic with the joy of slicing and preparing dishes.
